The History
It all started 30 years ago thanks to Mr. Dick Blakeslee from the Oar Steak and Seafood Grill. Taking inspiration from the Ft. Lauderdale event (only cooler!), this annual tradition draws in thousands of families to kick off the Holiday season. The boats are on display for free public viewing at Sandspit Park (Davis Park Ferry Terminal) and FINS (Watch Hill terminal), as well as at various waterfront restaurants including Drift 82, The Oar, Baja Boathouse, and The Harbor Crab. Our official judges carefully observe the boats competing for numerous trophies at the Sandspit.
A Very Merry Weekend
Saturday Night, November 22nd
Please join us for a wonderful evening at the People’s Choice Award Election. Come down to the Harbor Crab and Baja Boathouse to view and vote on your favorite dressed up boat. The viewing is from 5–9, and there is a water taxi to move between marinas so you only have to park once.
It’s an excellent, free, family orientated night out.
Sunday Night, November 23rd
